Lego loving Bristol police officer goes all Hot Fuzz to arrest suspected motorbike thief

A police officer who loves Lego took a leaf out of the 'Hot Fuzz' policing manual to arrest a suspected motorbike thief in a Bristol suburb.

In a memorable scene in the British comedy classic, 'Supercop' Nicholas Angel, played by Simon Pegg, chases a suspected shoplifter through back gardens - vaulting over fences - to apprehend his man.

And it appears Avon and Somerset Police Constable Joe Iles showed similar resolve and athleticism to catch a suspect in the Hartcliffe area of Bristol.

On Twitter, PC Iles wrote: "I found myself leaping over fences in pursuit of a possible motorbike thief.

"Caught up with them resulting in their arrest. Two motorbikes recovered and no longer zooming around Hartcliffe."

PC Iles doesn't say if any swans were involved in the chase - but his twitter bio reveals hes uses Lego to engage with the public.

Many of PC Iles tweets feature photos of Lego police officers, re-enacting facets of a real police officer's job - such as attending court for case hearings and trials.

Sadly, he's not yet recreated his fence leaping adventures in Lego.
