Legendary singer and actress Doris Day has died at the age of 97.
The American Star's foundation has confirmed the screen icon has died after her showbiz career spanned more than 80 years, the Mirror reports .
Born Doris Mary Ann Kappelhoff on April 3, 1922, she was an American actress, singer and animal welfare activist.
She made her break as a big band singer in 1939 and her hit, Sentimental Journey, saw her popularity increase in 1945.
She played the title role in calamity Jane in 1953, and starred in Alfred Hitchcock's The Man Who Knew too Much in 1956.
