Legendary referee Maurice Deegan floored during Leinster final in his final game

Maurice Deegan was left bruised in his final ever game refereeing after being hit in an unfortunate collision in the Leinster Football final.

Kilmacud Crokes took on the Downs in Croke Park under lights on Sunday evening and it ended Deegan's illustrious refereeing career.

The Laois man is among the most respected referees in the game but officiated his final game on Sunday, opting to retire.

But there would be one last bruising encounter as he found himself on the floor after getting in the way of two players battling for a ball.

But ever the professional, Deegan battled through the pain and dusted himself off.

Kilmacud Crokes would go on to win the game and another Leinster title in a convincing win.
