Legendary footballer Peter Schmeichel spotted visiting popular Dublin pub

Legendary Danish footballer Peter Schmeichel popped over to Dublin's most beloved pubs much to the delight of his Irish fans.

The football hero is in the capital for book signing duties for his new book One: My Autobiography.

And taking to social media earlier today, the Danish great quipped that he had visited his namesake, Peter's Pub, near St Stephen's Green in Dublin's city centre, while doing the rounds of Dublin bookshops.

He captioned the pic: "Time well spent in between book signings."

Schmeichel is best known for his most successful years playing as a goalkeeper at English club Manchester United, whom he captained to victory in the 1999 UEFA Champions League Final.

He also won Euro 1992 with his home country, Denmark.

The talented goalkeeper retired in 2003, while his son Kasper now plays football professionally with Leicester City and on the national team for Denmark.

Peter Schmeichel's book One: My Autobiography was released this week and is being sold in all good bookstores.
