Legendary film props set to go under the hammer for millions

  • An auction by Propstore in Los Angeles from March 25 to 27 will feature iconic film props, with a combined pre-sale estimate of £6.5 million.
  • The harpoon gun used by Robert Shaw in Jaws is expected to fetch up to £370,000, while his fishing rod from the film could sell for up to £110,000.
  • Star Wars memorabilia includes a light-up C-3PO head from The Empire Strikes Back, estimated at up to £520,000, and a lightsaber hilt from The Force Awakens.
  • Other notable items include an arena helmet and mask from Gladiator, a golden ticket from Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory, and the Wilson volleyball from Cast Away.
  • Propstore's chief operating officer, Brandon Alinger, highlighted the significance of the artefacts, stating the company acts as "caretakers of film history".
