Edinburgh Fringe 2019: Legendary club night Magic Nostalgic returns to the capital for just ONE night

There's been a big wheel-shaped hole in our hearts since the closure of The Electric Circus in 2017, which marked the end of a permanent home in the capital for music-lottery club night Magic Nostalgic.

A cult favourite since its inception in 2009 and an event shared mainly by word of mouth, Magic Nostalgic would pack out the 300 person capacity Market Street venue with a crowd so eclectic it became known as the monthly party that really did cater for everyone.

Every 30 minutes, hosts John-Paul Mason and Danny Abercrombie (who were normally dressed in some bizarre film-themed ensemble) would invite a reveller onto the stage to spin the wheel of music.

The wheel featured categories of music ranging from Power Ballads and 90s Rave Hits to Girlbands vs Boybands and One Hit Wonders and each category, if selected, had half an hour of dance time devoted to it.

Since The Electric Circus's closure, the club night has made appearances across the years at various festivals including Download, The Edinburgh Fringe, Rewind Scotland and Rewind North.

Now, for one night only this Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2019, you'll find yourself singing all the words to songs you thought you'd forgotten at The Liquid Rooms as Magic Nostalgic makes its return.

Saturday 17th August will also see the 10th anniversary of the famous musical wheel and Magic Nostalgic's first ever event in the Victoria Street venue.

Buy your tickets ASAP - there'll be a queue of die-hard fans already snapping up theirs as you read this.
