BAFTA-winning 'titan of documentaries' Louis Theroux is the latest big name to be added to Edinburgh International TV Festival 's line-up of speakers.
The broadcaster will join writer and journalist Dawn O'Porter in a conversation about his pioneering career.
In 'When Dawn Met Louis…', Dawn O’Porter will ask Theroux to reflect back on a career that has spanned two decades at the forefront of documentary-making.
Theroux stated: "It’s been eighteen years since I was at Edinburgh TV Festival! I’m thrilled to be coming back and talking to Dawn about my favourite films and shows and opening up about my own process."
As well as discussing his own career, he will consider the genre of authored documentaries from Michael Moore, Nick Broomfield and Ruby Wax alongside documentaries fronted by popular figures such as Stacey Dooley and Reggie Yates, through to the new wave of self-publishers on platforms such as YouTube .
The Edinburgh International TV Festival is an annual media event held in the United Kingdom each August which brings together all parts of the television and digital world to debate the major issues facing the industry. This year it will run from 21-23 August at the EICC.
