Legendary Dallas sportscaster Dale Hansen announces retirement, takes funny shot at Cowboys

Dallas sportscaster Dale Hansen has been in the media business for nearly four decades with WFAA, and although he’s beloved in Texas, his segments have gone national thanks to social media sharing them.

On Tuesday, he announced he would retire in September and in the process, took a funny shot at the Dallas Cowboys, whom he’s ripped for many reasons over the years.

“There’s an old proverb that says all good things must come to an end, and it’s true, all good things do,” Hansen said in the WFAA post announcing his retirement. “I’ve been waiting 25 years for the Cowboys to win another Super Bowl and I can’t wait anymore.”

Ha! Here’s his on-air announcement:

Hansen hasn’t just used his “Unplugged” segments to talk sports. He’s taken the time to slam white privilege, emotionally talk about school shootings and so much more. What a legend.
