Shoppers can ramp up the nostalgia this Pancake Day as one of the nation’s most-iconic foods has hit supermarket shelves – Birds Eye Minced Beef & Onion Crispy Pancakes.
Last year, Birds Eye announced the return of its legendary Crispy Pancakes range, giving the popular tea time favourite a modern makeover and recipe.
Now retro food fans can rejoice once again as the old favourite Minced Beef & Onion flavour is available to enjoy this Pancake Day.
Anne-Marie Gayer, Senior Brand Manager at Birds Eye, said: “Judging by the response to the re-launch last year, Crispy Pancakes are as popular now as they were during the 70s, 80s and even early 90s.
"We received an overwhelming demand from shoppers to bring back the Beef & Onion flavour, so we have spent months improving the recipe, using premium ingredients for the coating and filling. We hope shoppers young and old can enjoy the delicious flavour of our Crispy Pancakes.”
After the return of Birds Eye Crispy Pancakes was announced last year, shoppers took to Twitter to express their joy. One said “Can’t wait, absolutely love these. Proper childhood memories”, while another couldn’t contain their excitement, sharing the news with their followers: “Aw man!! Love a Crispy Pancake!!”.
Birds Eye Minced Beef & Onion Crispy Pancakes can be found in the frozen aisle in ASDA for £1.95.
The Birds Eye Crispy Pancake range also includes three other flavours; Ham & Mozzarella, Tomato & Mozzarella, and Mozzarella. Free from artificial colours and flavours, these can be found in the frozen ready meal aisle in supermarkets now from £1.75
