Legendary crime author Ian Rankin will appear at a special talk with this Edinburgh charity

Iconic Edinburgh writer Ian Rankin will be appearing at a special Q&A event with local charity Lung Ha Theatre Company, a leading theatre company for people with learning disabilities.

Lung Ha Theatre Company was founded in October 1984. Since then the Company has worked with over three hundred performers with a learning disability creating over forty original productions, and also toured internationally to England, France, Ireland, Poland, Sweden and Finland.

They recently launched a series called LUNG cHAts - interviews conducted by Lung Ha Theatre Company performers with leading figures from the Scottish cultural and creative scenes, they say that LUNG cHAts Live with Ian Rankin will be one of the 'best interviews yet'.

He'll be interviewed by Nicola Tuxworth and Gavin Yule from Lung Ha on Tuesday 19 November at the Royal Lyceum Theatre. The event takes place just days after the re-release of Ian’s 1990 novel,  Westwind;  and will be followed by a Q&A and book-signing.

Michael Fraser, Company Manager at Lung Ha Theatre Company said: “Lung Ha Theatre Company is absolutely delighted to be working with the brilliant Ian Rankin as part of Book Week Scotland. LUNG cHAts is a series of interviews conducted by Lung Ha Theatre Company performers, that, to date, have featured many very important figures from the Scottish cultural and creative scenes; LUNG cHAts Live with Ian Rankin promises to be one of the best interviews yet.”

“We would like to thank our wonderful event partners Six Point Productions as well as Book Week Scotland, the Royal Lyceum Theatre Edinburgh and Orion Publishing for their help in making this special event happen.”
