Legendary Bristol bar The Apple reopens for takeaway

One of Bristol's most legendary bars has reopened for takeaway.

Not only is the The Apple on a boat at the bottom of the city centre's booziest street, but it serves a fantastic range of ciders from the local area and further afield.

Like all other pubs and bars across the UK it closed in March when the lockdown was enforced - but has this weekend reopened as an off-licence.

This means cider-lovers can pick up containers of the drink and other beverages to enjoy in the sun, although they will not be able to sit on the quayside tables or use the toilets.

The news was announced in a statement shared on the bar's website.

It reads: "We are currently operating as an off-licence only, asking customers to kindly observe social distancing at all times and not to remain at the venue once they have collected their drinks.

"Until further easing the quayside tables are not available to use, nor do we have toilet facilities available.

"As easing continues we will try to return to service as normal, but until then we thank you for your custom, your patience and for keeping us all safe."

The Apple will be open today (Saturday, May 30) between 12pm - 9pm and next week from Wednesday - Sunday, 12pm-9pm.
