Legendary bowling alley Lane7 coming to St James Quarter with beer pong, karaoke and retro arcades

A hugely popular bowling attraction is set to open its first venue in Edinburgh at the new St James Quarter.

Lane7, the UK’s largest independent boutique bowling and gaming operator, has already been entertaining punters in Aberdeen, Newcastle and more cities across the country.

So, it's about time the capital got a taste of the boutique bowling concept people can't get enough of.

The new 19,000 sq ft entertainment venue will be located on fourth level of the £1 billion centre, which is set to open in easter 2021 after construction got back underway earlier this year following lockdown.

Lane7 has everything you need for a day or night out, with ping-pong, urban golf, 80s-style arcade games, karaoke, beer pong, on top of blowing - and Edinburgh’s full entertainment line-up yet to be announced.

Tim Wilks, founder of Lane7, commented: “We’ve been to Edinburgh more times than I can remember to hunt down the perfect Lane7 location, and we’ve finally found the right spot. Lane7 has a great reputation for delivering our unique take on bowling and gaming, and our team are raring to go in this world class city.

"Lockdown has given us the chance to rethink and push the bar on our guest experience, we can’t wait to bring a Lane7 night out to the people of Edinburgh."

St James Quarter is being billed as a
game-changing mixed-use development which will bring over 80 new brands to the city, an huge mix of restaurants and bars, with the latest addition being SushiSamba, a W Edinburgh hotel, a boutique Everyman Cinema and a Roomzzz Aparthotel, as well as an events programme in a range of new and attractive public spaces.

Ed Corrigan at St James Quarter, commented: "Our vision is to create the most diverse and attractive retail, leisure and F&B offering that Edinburgh has ever seen.

"The signing of Lane7 is a major milestone in this vision, creating the next generation in mixed-use with highly sought-after entertainment. Lane7’s exciting entertainment experience will be another reason to visit St James Quarter and the city of Edinburgh."
