Grant Page, the renowned Australian stunt performer known for his daring work in iconic films such as Mad Max, The Man From Hong Kong, and Mad Dog Morgan, has passed away at the age of 85. The tragic incident occurred when the vehicle he was driving near his residence in Kendall, New South Wales, collided with a tree, as confirmed by his son Leroy Page to Daily Mail Australia.

Throughout his illustrious career, Page collaborated extensively with director Brian Trenchard-Smith on numerous projects, including The Stuntmen (1973), King Fu Killers (1974), Deathcheaters (1976), and Stunt Rock (1978). Notably, in The Man From Hong Kong (1973), Page engaged in intense fight scenes with martial arts expert Jimmy Wang Yu, involving knives, cleavers, and meat hooks.

Page's fearless approach to stunts was evident in his work on George Miller's Mad Max (1979), where he executed a memorable car stunt despite starting with a broken leg. His exceptional skills and audacity, honed during his training with the Commandos special forces unit in Australia, set him apart in the industry.

His contributions extended to other notable films such as Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985), Mad Dog Morgan (1976), and Road Games (1981), where he showcased his unmatched courage and expertise in executing high-risk stunts.

Page's legacy in the world of cinema was further solidified by his involvement in documentaries like Dangerfreaks (1987) and Not Quite Hollywood: The Wild, Untold Story of Ozploitation! (2008), where his peers and collaborators lauded his fearlessness and unparalleled luck in surviving perilous stunts.

His impact on the film industry continued in recent years, with his work as a stunt coordinator on various projects, including Gods of Egypt (2016) and Mechanic: Resurrection (2016). Page's influence also resonated in the book Danger on the Silver Screen (2022), which celebrated his legacy as a stuntman who embodied the spirit of early cinema daredevils.

Grant Page leaves behind a lasting legacy in the world of stunts and filmmaking, survived by his sons Gulliver, Leroy, Adrian, and Jeremy, all of whom have followed in his footsteps in the industry.
