April 14, 2020 marks Matteo Guendouzi's 21st birthday and has prompted a big reaction from Arsenal supporters.
Now into his second season at the club following a £7m transfer from Lorient in the summer of 2018, the young Frenchman is already a popular figure among most fans.
Some of which have highlighted Guendouzi's best moment of the season.
It came in the 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium towards the end of October - a game that had several talking points.
Whilst the London derby will be remembered for Granit Xhaka's outburst towards the home supporters as he was substituted, Guendouzi did something to ensure the Gunners did not lose the game.
With the host committing bodies forward in search of a winner, Palace managed to clear the lines from a corner got the ball out to Wilfried Zaha who had acres of space ahead of him.
Luckily for Arsenal, Guendouzi took one for the team and ensured the winger would not have the chance to face Bernd Leno in a 1v1 situation.
As expected, he was cautioned after a cynical foul on the Palace star and admitted afterward that there was no other choice.
"I had to foul Zaha at the end, otherwise he is through on goal on his own," he told Arsenal.com. "I'm the last defender but I’m far from our goal as well. I had to do it."
Guendouzi needn't explain his actions as Arsenal fans on Reddit are still in awe of this tackle.
One fan said: "This is a legendary tackle. He gave up all pretences and straight-up rugby tackled the guy. Actually even in rugby high tackles like this aren't allowed .. we need more of this nastiness in our team."
Another fan commented by saying: "Crazy move to do but he won us a point by doing so."
"Isn't it right.. we'll be talking about it for years to come - right up there with Flam's head tackle for me," was the response of another fan.
And the response which summed up the tackle was: "Proper challenge."
