There was some delight for Tottenham Hotspur supporters on Tuesday night.
Fernando Llorente marked his return to the Champions League with a late goal for Napoli as beat holders Liverpool 2-0.
Speaking ahead of the game, the Spaniard vowed to gain a measure of revenge on Jurgen Klopp's side after suffering defeat in last season's final back in June.
"Last season's Final was very painful for me. I want revenge and I want Napoli to show that they're on par with a very good team like Liverpool," he said ."Of course [we can reach the Final], even if it'll be difficult. We're thinking game by game: after Liverpool we'll have to face two other teams.
"It's never easy and if you waste a game, the group becomes complicated. We need to have a perfect match, play a great game and keep errors to a minimum.
"They're very strong, especially when they win the ball back, because they have a lot of quality.
"If you make a mistake against teams as strong as Liverpool, they make you pay."
Llorente certainly carried out his pre-match intentions as the former Spurs striker came on in the second half and finished past Adrian after Virgil van Dijk inadvertently knocked a loose ball back into the Liverpool box.
Some Spurs fans took to social media to point out that the Llorente goal was 'revenge for the Champions League final'.
