Legend perfectly sums up Liverpool's aim for the season ahead of Manchester United trip

Luis Garcia knows all about the occasion of a fixture against Manchester United.

The former Liverpool man played against the Red Devils five times during his time at Anfield but only managed one victory, a fifth round FA Cup tie in 2006.

But the Spaniard is keen to see his former side take advantage of a United team who have struggled this season.

A 1-0 defeat against Newcastle in their last outing has mounted the pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with Liverpool seen as a crucial game for the Norweigan.

The Reds have enjoyed a much happier start to the season, winning every game and building up an eight point lead at the top of the table.

Garcia showed his excitement for the game by tweeting a picture of him in action against former Red Devils captain Roy Keane with the caption:

"One of the biggest games you can play. Always different, always difficult, always special!! Perfect moment for LFC to keep the gap with the ones below and show what's the aim and only target. Premier League CHAMPIONSHIP #Morethanagame #OnceaRedAlwaysaRed #YNWA"

The 41-year-old showed he could still cut it on the football pitch when he took part in the Liverpool vs Rangers Legends game last weekend.

Garcia got on the end of a Dirk Kuyt cross and headed past Neil Alexander to open the scoring in the first half.

The Reds went on to win 3-2 as Steven Gerrard turned out for both sides.
