'Legend!' - Newcastle United fans notice same thing as Eddie Howe training footage released

Newcastle United have released footage of new manager Eddie Howe leading his first training session in charge of the club this afternoon.

The Magpies confirmed the appointment of Howe as Steve Bruce’s replacement in the dugout on Monday, with the former Bournemouth boss signing a two-and-a-half-year deal at St James’ Park.

Howe is set to be joined on Tyneside by coaches Jason Tindall, Stephen Perches and Simon Weatherstone, while former interim manager Graeme Jones is also to remain in the backroom team.

And after confirmation of his appointment was finally released yesterday, Newcastle’s Twitter account has already posted a short clip of Howe in action on the training field.

The 43-year-old is seemingly leading a drill on improving his new side’s movement on the pitch, telling them that being 'stood still is no good' and that ‘you’ve got to create the space'.

Howe also appeared to be heavily involved in the taking part of the session, too, as he is shown to be sprinting around the training field, which is undoubtedly a refreshing sight for the Newcastle fanbase.

Here is how they have been reacting to the footage.

@LiamNUFC98: “You would never see Steve Bruce do this, having a proper manager/head coach makes me love this club even more.”

@willnufc_: “Players like Joelinton and Willock will thrive in this type of environment where the coach is really getting involved and guiding them.”

@halliday_9: “Tears in my eyes. We have a proper manager.”

@CapitalG5000: “He said “BUILD UP PHASE!” He wants us to have possession of the football!!”

@TomJCarlisle: “Genuinely can’t believe a Premier League manager is having to tell players not to stand still. Absolute peak BruceBall.”

@NewcastleNigelB: “Never seen our players smile so much. Finally they get to express themselves. Our defence will feel the benefits when the others keep the ball and pin back the opposition. Great choice of manager.”

@gfellowes2: “I would imagine these new up to date tactics will shock quite a few of the squad who’ve been used to BruceBall.”

@craiggraham76: “Never saw Bruce getting stuck in like this. Things you love to see. Welcome Eddie.”

@NUFC_1987: “I got emotional watching that.”

@kevmarsden2: “Eddie Howe you legend. I love this already and it’s not even been a full day. Transformed their training immediately. The players will be in shock.”
