Chelsea fans are enjoying themselves on social media after Arsenal signed defender David Luiz to a new contract.

The former Blues centre-back has been much-criticised following his performance to forget against Manchester City in Arsenal's first game back since the restart.

But surprisingly, the Gunners moved to sign Luiz to a new, one-year contract extension.

That hasn't gone down well with most Arsenal fans, but it has with Chelsea fans, who quite like the fact their London rivals may be making a mistake.

Luiz spent six years at Stamford Bridge across two spells, winning the Premier League, Champions League and two Europa League titles across that time.

Luiz has also won titles at both Benfica and PSG but hasn't enjoyed the same success at Arsenal.

Since arriving in 2019, the Brazilian has made 26 league appearances, only managing to help the Gunners to 10th in the Premier League table.

Luiz is currently serving a three-game suspension following his red card against Manchester City in the 3-0 defeat at the Etihad Stadium last week.
