Lefty delivers epic Lefty response to Jake Owen’s complains about Tiger match

Country music star Jake Owen and Phil Mickelson had a sharp verbal altercation at Jordan Spieth’s wedding last Thanksgiving Day weekend and Lefty delivered a first-round knockout as only he can.

The Anne Verret-Jordan Spieth nuptials were held in Texas the day after the infamous Tiger vs. Phil pay-per-view match.

Owen was one of the millions who paid $29.99 to watch the event on pay-per-view, only to learn later millions of others had been able to watch the match for free. Owen, who is pals with Spieth, was not impressed with the quality of golf he had paid nearly $30 to watch.

Owen has a one handicap and played the Web.com Tour’s Nashville Golf Open Benefitting the Snedeker Foundation on a sponsor’s exemption last year.

After a few drinks, Owen decided to share his feelings with Mickelson.

He tells the story in this NSFW clip from the Barstool Sports “ForePlay” podcast.

It’s worth a listen just for Mickelson’s reply – which was epic Phil.

“I was like, hey, Phil, you owe me (expletive) $29.99 for wasting four hours of my life with the (expletive) golf I’ve ever seen,” Owen recalled telling Mickelson, who now has 44 PGA Tour victories. “I want my $29.99 back and apologize to me for some (expletive) golf.”

The unflappable Mickelson instantly pulled out a wad of cash ripped off a $100 bill.

“I won 90,000 of these yesterday. Take one of these and go (expletive) yourself,” he said.

And in case you think Owen was talking out of school, Mickelson later Tweeted: “True Story 😊” in response.

Never stop being you, Phil.
