Leeds' worst Covid blackspots where infection rates are surging

Coronavirus infection rates across Leeds may have dropped in the past week but a handful of locations are still struggling with case numbers way above the national average.

There are five Middle layer Super Output Areas (MSOA) - these are portions of the country home to around 7,200 people each - in the Leeds region with runaway rates.

The national average currently stands at 465.7 new cases per 100,000 people.

There are five MSOAs in Leeds with rates above 800.

Most are to the North West of the city, in Wharfedale, with one further area in the North East.
