Leeds woman's terror after creepy man grabs her and attacks her with snowball in strange Hyde Park encounter

A Leeds student has revealed her terror after a creepy man shoved a snowball in her face before grabbing hold of her and urging her to come with him.

The 20-year-old was walking through a snowy Woodhouse Moor in Hyde Park earlier this morning around 11.15am when she came across the man, who she believes was aged between 30 and 50.

She said the man, who was wearing an "orange-yellowish coat" began asking her if she liked the snow.

After she said she did, he put a snowball in her face before trying to encourage her to leave the park with him.

She said: "[I] asked him to leave me alone but he didn't let me go. He said 'you're beautiful, come with me' and he held me tighter at this point. I really wanted to run but he was kind of hugging me.

"After I insisted and raised my voice he finally stopped holding me."

The woman says the unnerving encounter happened on the opposite side of the park to where Leeds University Business School is.

She says she has tried to contact police to warn them about what happened after posting details of her encounter on a Facebook group for Leeds university students.
