Leeds are back in the Premier League for the first time in 16 years after clinching promotion on Friday night.
West Brom's 2-1 defeat to Huddersfield secured Marcelo Bielsa's side's return to the English top-flight.
Leeds have a large support in Ireland given that many Irish players have represented the club over the years with John Giles, Gary Kelly and Ian Harte just some of those names to play at Elland Road.
Having suffered many years of pain and hurt, fans were buzzing after winning promotion and took to social media to celebrate.
Westlife singer Nicky Byrne, who spent two years at the club in the 1990s, tweeted: "Finally Leeds United are back where they belong! #Premiership Massive congrats to all!!"
Former Ireland rugby player and Leeds fan Tommy Bowe posted: "16 years! Highs and lots of lows...delighted we are back in the Prem. I’m off for a pint!"
Some fans were so happy with promotion that they stayed up all night, with one supporter tweeting: "I haven’t been too bed and still hasn’t sunk in."
Another posted: "Born 1969 introduced to Leeds by my da, first kit the yellow Tony Currie kit im Irish but something hit me about Leeds the club fans, county, I love Yorkshire , enjoy tonight friends, Norman, Trevor, big , Jack, and the brilliant Paul Madley, giants are back."
Someone else said: "I’m Irish and I’ve been supporting Leeds since I was 4 years old. I was starting to think I was never going see them get back. So so so happy!!!!"
Of course, there was plenty of banter too.
One person added: "All the Irish Leeds fans are crawling out of their 20 year hibernation."
Leeds fans can now look forward to the fixtures being released for next season, but will be hoping to be crowned Championship winners in the meantime.
They will win the league if Brentford fail to beat Stoke on Saturday and even if the Bees are victorious, Leeds will need just a point against Derby on Sunday to clinch the title.
