Leeds weather warning issued for strong winds that could impact travel

People in Leeds are being told to expect strong winds and disruption to roads and railways this week.

The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind, that will be in effect between 5am and 9pm on Tuesday, January 7, as it expects 50mph winds.

Cloudy conditions, showers at midday and 6pm and temperatures of around 11°C are also forecast.

The forecaster states: "Some delays to road, rail, air and ferry transport are likely. Some bus and train services may be affected, with some journeys taking longer.

"Delays for high-sided vehicles on exposed routes and bridges are likely and some short-term loss of power and other services is possible."
