Leeds weather: Forecaster predicts Leeds to be hit by snow in January

To anyone hoping the city will wake up to a blanket of the white stuff on Christmas day, we're afraid that just isn't going to happen.

December 25, according to forecaster Accuweather is actually going to see some sunshine in Leeds - in spells, with spots of rain and highs of 7C.

Yet we won't need to wait too long into the new year to see snow, according to this brave forecaster.

They have January 15 down for snow to hit the city, with "rain and snow showers in the day, followed by mixed rain and snow that could become snow or flurries".

Similar to Chrismas Day, the mercury will reach heights of just 7C, but fall to lows of 0C into the night.

It's always best to take these forecasts with a pinch of salt. In Leeds there is actually science behind the city being less likely to experience snow compared to surrounding areas.
