Leeds weather forecast for next 48 hours as Storm Christoph set to end

The heavy rain and flooding brought by Storm Christoph is set to come to an end, with no rain forecast for the next 48 hours in Leeds.

A yellow weather warning for ice affecting parts of West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire will remain in place until 10am on Friday, but is not predicted to cause problems in Leeds.

Downpours across the region over the last two days have led to travel disruption, while the River Aire in the city centre burst its banks.

Northern Rail issued a ‘do not travel’ alert for passengers this morning, with replacement buses requested for journeys between Leeds and York and trains passing through Garforth.

Met Office Thursday afternoon weather: Storm Christoph slowly clearing but flood risk continues with more rain and snow forecast

Flood warnings and alerts are still in place as the water level remains high.

But the Met Office forecast for Friday and Saturday offers some hope, with cold but dry conditions ahead.

So what will the weather be like over the next couple of days?

Friday

The good news is Friday is set to be dry - but the bad news is that temperatures could fall to freezing, with highs of 5°C and lows of 0°C.

There will be sunny intervals for most the day, ahead of a clear night with some partial cloud later on.

Saturday

Saturday is set to be even colder, with highs of just 4°C and lows of -2°C - but the forecast promises another dry, albeit cloudy day.
