Leeds vs Tottenham LIVE
Spurs kick off the Premier League action today with a trip up north, looking to win a league game before an international break for the first time in two years - a run stretching back seven games. Today’s newly promoted hosts will be relishing the chance for a famous scalp, having had the whole week off while Spurs flew to the Arctic Circle on Champions League duty.
It was an alarmingly sloppy display from Spurs against Bodo/Glimt, though they left northern Norway with a point much to the disbelief of their hosts - and everyone with eyes. Tottenham, though, will be boosted by the return of captain Cristian Romero, who stayed at home “as a precaution” but has since returned to training. Randal Kolo Muani is also back with the group, but misses out today.
Leeds have won just one of their last 11 Premier League games against Tottenham, but will be licking their lips at the opportunity of recording a rare victory and the chance of heading into the international break on a high. Follow the game LIVE below with our dedicated match blog, featuring expert insight and analysis from Matt Verri at Elland Road.

Matt Verri at Elland Road
13:55 , Alex YoungReaching boiling point inside Elland Road. Home fans have been getting increasingly wound up by some of the decisions and the last five minutes have got them really riled up.
Mood not exactly cooled down by Romero and Okafor squaring up.
Leeds 1-2 Tottenham
13:55 , Alex Young64min: Porro wins the ball back and is then dragged back, prompting Romero and Okafor to square off. Each get a booking for their troubles.
Matt Verri at Elland Road

Let that be a lesson to the summer signing!
Matt Verri at Elland Road
13:37 , Alex YoungTwo minutes into the second half and Palhinha has slid into two challenges. Already on a yellow card, not sure those are risks Frank will be desperate for him to take.
Second half
13:35 , Alex Young46min: Back underway, no changes.
I can’t see Frank making any changes at the break, but Porro had a tough first half.

Level at the break, and that seems fair on the balance of play.
These early Saturday kick-offs are usually quite tame - not this one.
Half-time
13:20 , Alex Young50min: There’s the whistle.
Leeds 1-1 Tottenham

Matt Verri at Elland Road
13:03 , Alex YoungBig round of applause for Gray as he comes out to warm up for the first time. "You're Leeds and you know you are" is the chant from the fans.

Leeds 0-1 Tottenham
12:58 , Alex Young27min: Now, Kudus should have scored!
Udogie does briliantly down the left, squares it to Kudus to sidefoot home... but he does his best Calvert-Lewin impression!
Leeds 0-1 Tottenham
12:57 , Alex Young26min: An immediate warning for Spurs, who give the ball away in their final third and find themselves lucky it falls to Calvet-Lewin, who blazes over from close range.
Matt Verri at Elland Road
12:56 , Alex YoungTel really, really needed that. Bit of fortunate with the deflection, but the Frenchman is up and running for the season.
We've seen Spurs come from behind plenty of times recently - challenge for them now is to control things.
GOAL!
12:55 , Alex Young23min: Tel with a fine strike to break the deadlock!

Leeds win another corner, this time off Aaronson.
Leeds 0-0 Tottenham
12:47 , Alex Young16min: Another great pass, this time from Simons to Udogie, forces a save from Darlow. Spurs seeing more of the ball now.
Leeds 0-0 Tottenham
12:45 , Alex Young13min: Kudus does brilliantly to hold off a challenge and feed Odobert into the penalty area. Two Leeds defenders immediately crowd the Spurs forward out who tries to cut back but loses the ball.
Matt Verri at Elland Road
12:42 , Alex YoungVicario hasn't started this match well. Got absolutely nowhere near the ball when he came for it and Rodon headed against the post, and he's just done some sort of very awkward chest control to get the ball back into his area.
Handball appeals waved away but he's looking shaky.
Leeds 0-0 Tottenham
12:41 , Alex Young10min: First bit of extended possession from Spurs, which ends with Palhinha blazing over from the edge of the area.
Leeds 0-0 Tottenham

12:37 , Alex Young7min: Former Spurs defender Rodon hits the outside of the post a header at the back post!
Vicario in no-man’s land.
Matt Verri at Elland Road
12:36 , Alex YoungLots of talk about how good Spurs are at set-pieces, but Leeds worked that really nicely. Floated to the back post, Stach free after a couple of blocks from team-mates and he catches the volley really sweetly.
Bright start from the hosts, they've looked sharper than Spurs.

Kick-off
12:31 , Alex Young1min: Here we go!
Matt Verri at Elland Road
12:30 , Alex YoungCan sometimes get a flat atmosphere with these 12:30pm kick-offs - certainly not the case here. Leeds fans are right up for it.
Spurs have fallen behind far too regularly recently. They need to make a better start this afternoon and quieten things down.
Matt Verri at Elland Road
12:26 , Alex YoungWind and rain has stopped for now and there is something resembling sun over Elland Road. Things are looking up for all involved.

Not long now.
Frank on Spurs team selection
12:16 , Alex Young“It's about trying to find that right balance between keeping some consistency and keeping some freshness into the team, because it's not only for this round of games but also all the whole season.
“Richie has done well, but 290 minutes in a row [and] Matty has gone from step to step forward, from the West Ham performance to the Doncaster performance. So hopefully a very good performance today.
“It's been solid [from Xavi Simons] with good glimpses. It's also fair to say we all want players to hit the ground running and just be exceptional. But it's not that easy. It's a month since he arrived and I think I'm happy with what I've seen. There's more to come, and hopefully we see the next step today.”
Both teams are going through their final prep ahead of kick-off.
Frank on Leeds
11:43 , Alex Young"I think Leeds have done very well since they have got promoted. Elland Road is one of the best games to go to because the atmosphere is always great.
"Clearly, they have been very good at home. They give very little away in open play. It could be 90 minutes back and forth."

Six changes for Spurs
11:36 , Alex YoungLeeds sticks with the same team which drew 2-2 with Bournemouth.
Tottenham make six changes from their own 2-2 draw, having scraped a point away at Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Wednesday.
Captain Romero returns, while Tel starts up top in front of Simons in the No10. Gray is on the bench for his return to Elland Road.
Matt Verri at Elland Road
11:27 , Alex YoungIt’s taken a while but Xavi Simons starts at No10 in the Premier League for the first time. Mathys Tel comes into the side to lead the line.
And, after all those column inches written on Archie Gray’s return to Elland Road, he’s on the bench.

Farke on Frank
11:13 , Alex Young"His mentality, also the intensity the team plays with, is always well structured, strong, and also against the ball, they play and press with intensity.
"They always threaten the depth with many, many runners in behind. Also, of course, the detail set pieces, attention to throw-ins. All these topics are, of course, important for Thomas."

Frank expects 'big future' for Gray despite slow start to Spurs career
11:02 , Alex YoungThomas Frank believes Archie Gray has the attributes and potential to reach the level of Rodri and Declan Rice.
Gray joined Tottenham for £40million last summer, having been close to moving to Brentford to play under Frank. The Dane got his chance to work with the 19-year-old a year later after arriving at Spurs himself.
Gray’s first season in north London saw him moved around by Ange Postecoglou to cover for injuries, and he was frequently used in defence.
Frank, though, has made it clear he will use Gray in midfield and is confident that he has a “big future ahead” in a Spurs shirt, making a bold comparison to two of the best players in the world.
“I see him as a midfielder who can play six or eight,” Frank said.
“That is his position and I think these days midfielders need to be more complete. You need to be a little bit of a six, little bit of eight and 10 and two of the best in the world right now are probably Rodri and Declan Rice.
“I think they can do a little bit of everything. I see Archie and they are big names to compare him too, but I see he has got the same potential.”

Latest match odds
10:53 , Alex YoungLooks like the bookies agree that it could be a quite a close encounter today.
- Leeds: 7/4
- Draw: 49/20
- Tottenham: 6/4
(Odds via Grosvenor Sport, subject to change.)
Matchday omens
10:45 , Alex YoungLeeds will bid to extend their unbeaten home league record to 24 matches today. Daniel Farke's side last lost a league game at Elland Road in September last year - 1-0 against Burnley - while a third Premier League win of the season could lift them into the top half of the table.
Tottenham, who have won five of their last six encounters with Leeds, sit fourth after last week's 1-1 home draw against Wolves and drew 2-2 in Norway against Bodo/Glimt on Tuesday in the Champions League.
However, it is two years since Spurs won in the fixture immediately before their players jetted off for international duty, a run extended by defeat to Bournemouth in August.
Gray could provide missing piece to Tottenham midfield puzzle on Leeds homecoming
10:36 , Alex YoungArchie Gray is set to get his first taste of Elland Road as a visiting player this afternoon, writes Matt Verri.
The 19-year-old joined Leeds at under-nine level and rose through the club's academy. He made the first-team bench at 15 and soon established himself in the side before joining Tottenham for around £40million in 2024.
Just over a year later, quite how much he has developed is up for debate. On Friday, Thomas Frank suggested verdicts should be delayed for the foreseeable future.
He said: "When do we judge a player? I think it is probably fair two years down the line to really make a big assessment.
"I know I am also being judged from game to game, so I know how it works, but I think to judge it as a success or failure, I don’t think you can really do that before two years."
In his final campaign at Leeds, Gray made 52 appearances across all competitions and was named the Championship’s young player of the season.
The teenager played more in his first year at Spurs than he would probably have expected - 46 appearances in all - but he was moved around to cover injuries and spent much of his time at full-back or centre-back. It was not until March that Gray started a Tottenham match in midfield.
Frank has suggested he will use Gray primarily in his preferred midfield role but since starting on the opening weekend of the Premier League season, he has played only one minute in the league.

Leeds vs Tottenham prediction
10:28 , Alex YoungEven with their injury problems, you would expect Tottenham to take three points here, but they have looked disjointed in attack in recent weeks.
New star signing Xavi Simons hasn’t fully convinced in his first few games as he acclimatises to English football, and he was dropped to the bench for the trip to Norway in midweek.
However, the Dutchman and fellow new recruit Mohammed Kudus were called upon to dig the north Londoners out of the hole they found themselves in in the Arctic Circle.
Leeds are a dangerous opponent - especially at home - and have their own threats, like Noah Okafor and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who seems to have hit some form since his arrival from Everton.
Draw, 1-1.
Early Tottenham team news
10:20 , Alex YoungTottenham will have Cristian Romero back today after he missed the draw with Bodo/Glimt in midweek in what was described as a "precaution".
Romero posted pictures of himself in training on Thursday on his social media accounts and Frank confirmed at his pre-match press conference that his captain is available.
Joao Palhinha was on the bench against Bodo/Glimt and should come back into the starting lineup, while Archie Gray is pushing to be involved against his former club.
It is expected that Mohammed Kudus will start on the right after being surprisingly left out of the lineup in the Champions League and Xavi Simons could make his first start at No10 in the Premier League.
Richarlison has looked tired up front but could have to lead the line again with Dominic Solanke out after ankle surgery.
Summer arrival Randal Kolo Muani has made progress in his recovery from a dead leg but the Frenchman is still not ready to return to the squad and will not be involved against Leeds.
Yves Bissouma and Kota Taki both returned to training ahead of the Bodo/Glimt match and could make the squad this weekend.

Early Leeds team news
10:13 , Alex YoungLeeds will be without Dan James - sidelined for up to six weeks with an ankle injury - while fellow winger Willy Gnonto (calf) and goalkeeper Lucas Perri (thigh) are still out.
James, who has recently struggled with a core muscle injury which kept him out of last week's home draw against Bournemouth, has turned an ankle in training and will be sidelined until November.
The Wales winger will miss today’s game and both his country's upcoming matches against England at Wembley and the World Cup qualifier against Belgium.
Manager Daniel Farke said: "Daniel James will be out for a few weeks, he's rolled his ankle sadly in training.
"The doctors say he's likely out four to six weeks so realistically we expect him back just after the November international break.
"If he would be back before it would be a bonus and a surprise. It's not great news."
