Leeds United writer Phil Hay to leave the Yorkshire Evening Post

Leeds United writer Phil Hay has announced that he will leave the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Phil has worked for the regional title for 15 years, and covered the whites for much of that time as chief football writer.

He took to Twitter to announce the news this morning:

"After 15 years at the YEP, I'm leaving the paper next week", he wrote.

"Thirteen years home and away with Leeds United, which has been some adventure.

"They say you get less for murder but you get less for winning the lottery too. I'm grateful for all of it.

"Really pleased that my next job will keep me in football writing, keep me covering Leeds United and keep me on Twitter.

"But more about that another time."
