Leeds United 'will only get better' as they establish themselves in the Premier League

Leeds United continue to earn high praise from pundits for what they’ve brought to the Premier League.

Under Marcelo Bielsa, the Whites have implemented the same style and philosophy that got them promoted last season, and that work ethic is earning them plenty of praise.

Their 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park saw former Liverpool and Real Madrid forward Steve McManaman hail Leeds for their style of play.

Speaking on BT Sport commentary after Raphinha’s opening goal on Tuesday night, McManaman said: “They’ve been great, though, haven’t they? They’ve been a great addition to the Premier League, a great addition.

“I love watching them play, they’re only going to get better the longer they stay in the Premier League and with the more additions they can bring in.”

It wasn’t just during the game that pundits praised Leeds, but before too, with former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand also quick to point out how good Bielsa’s side have been this season, despite heading to St James' Park on a three-match losing streak.

“I don’t think any sort of panic will be going through this team at all,” Ferdinand told BT Sport.

He added: “The training ground, the ambience there was that of real togetherness, a group that understood what the task was from them and they were very realistic with what their expectations were this season.”
