'Leeds United will be the team to beat' - Championship veteran Neil Warnock

Former Leeds United manager Neil Warnock believes the Whites ‘have a better team’ this season.

Marcelo Bielsa's side was beaten in last season's Championship play-off semi-finals by Derby County, after a campaign where, for large parts, they looked as though they would secure a return to the top-flight.

Warnock, who will come up against the Elland Road club this season, believes the Whites will be one of the teams to beat in this year's Championship.

"It’s a special place, Leeds," the current Cardiff City manager told talkSPORT.

“I had a great time there and in different circumstances I would have enjoyed it even more, but it wasn’t to be. To get people of that calibre in the league and to keep him this season was an achievement.

“They’ve got a better team this season if I’m honest, they’ve been quite busy this summer. Leeds and Fulham will be the teams to beat. If we finished above those two teams I’ll be very happy.”
