Leeds United weigh up move for £28m former Bristol City star who flopped at Aston Villa and Everton

Leeds United have been linked with a move for Yannick Bolasie should they win promotion to the Premier League.

The Elland Road club currently occupy second in the Championship, thanks in part to Bristol City's win over Sheffield United on Saturday.

A report by TEAMtalk has now suggested the Whites could well move for former Bristol City winger Bolasie should they secure a place in the Premier League for next season.

Bolasie is currently at Everton after a £28m move in 2016, but he has failed to make an impression at Goodison Park due to injury.

He spent the start of the season on loan at Aston Villa but was sent back in January due to his underwhelming form.

The former Robin then moved to Anderlecht, where he has rediscovered the form that made him a hit in the Premier League with Crystal Palace, scoring four goals in seven matches.

High-flying Luton Town boss speaks fondly of his time at Bristol City

Yet the Belgium side cannot afford to sign Bolasie permanently, meaning Leeds could opt to spend any Premier League windfall that comes their way on the winger.

It could also mean any interest in Robins star Callum O'Dowda is at an end after he was briefly linked with Elland Road in January.

Leeds instead opted to bid for Swansea's Daniel James but the move dramatically collapsed on deadline day.
