Leeds United want two ex-Bristol City attackers to boost their promotion hopes

Leeds are being linked with two former Bristol City players as they look to boost their hopes of automatic promotion.

After Eddie Nketiah was recalled by parent club Arsenal, the Whites are looking for another forward to bolster their attacking options as they look to challenge West Brom for the Championship title.

And they're looking to one Premier League side and one Championship side to do just that.

Alan Nixon of The Sun claims that Leeds are looking at signing former City players Luke Freeman and Cauley Woodrow.

In a tweet, Nixon said: Leeds. "Taking a big interest in Luke Freeman at Sheff U. Would be a handy addition. Poss loan or buy.

"Not getting much chance with Blades since joining. Also looking at Woodrow at Barnsley. Difficult."

Luke Freeman was one of Bristol City's standout performers in the League One promotion campaign when he signed in 2014.

The current Blades forward has made just ten appearances for Chris Wilder's side so far this season, and could be keen on a move to get more first team football.

He made over 100 appearances for Bristol City during his three years at the club, before signing for QPR in 2017.

Cauley Woodrow had a less successful time at City during a loan spell from Fulham. The former England U21 forward made 15 appearances in the league for City in 2017/18, scoring just two goals.

He is having a more successful year this season, however, with struggling Barnsley.

Despite his side's poor form, Woodrow has scored nine goals in the Championship and could be tempted by a move to Leeds.
