Leeds United want Man City man as Cardiff City's Neil Etheridge discusses future - latest Championship transfer news and rumours

Cardiff City goalkeeper Neil Etheridge has made no secret of his desire to play in the Premier League again.

The Philippines international was part of the squad that gained promotion into the top flight with the Bluebirds in Neil Warnock's first full campaign in South Wales while he was the star performer during the 2018/19 season.

And following the recent relegation, Etheridge - a reported target for West Ham - has spoken of his ambition to play in the Premier League once again.

"I want to go back to play in the Premier League. I feel it’s where I belong," he told the media in the Philippines.

"To have the opportunity to go back in the Premier League is something I’ll have to consider extremely. I’ll think about it, but ultimately, it’s not my decision.

"Obviously, [Cardiff] has given me the platform to go and play in the Championship and the Premier League. Even the massive disappointment with the club that we got relegated."

"You’re one step away, you’re one injury away, a couple of training sessions away from getting that No. 1 shirt, so there are how many ways you must look at it.

"You sit on the bench in the Premier League for one week, you could be playing for the rest of the season if the No. 1 at that time had a bad game."

Elsewhere in the Championship, Marcelo Bielsa reportedly wants to re-sign Jack Harrison at Leeds United.

Football Insider state that the Whites are eyeing up another temporary move for Harrison.

Harrison has returned to Manchester City but Bielsa remains eager to land the winger again.

Birmingham City are aiming to acquire Ipswich Town keeper Bartosz Bialkowski.

The Daily Star (paper edition) report that Birmingham have launched a bid for the Polish shot-stopper.

His value is said to be around £1.5m, though Birmingham did offer £3m for him last summer before they were hit with EFL transfer restrictions.
