Leeds United v West Ham United predictions as BBC pundit critical of Illan Meslier

Leeds United take on West Ham this evening looking to get back to winning ways after last weekend's defeat to Chelsea.

The Whites have a bit of a defensive injury crisis, with both Robin Koch and Diego Llorente set to miss the game, but Marcelo Bielsa has already decided on his starting line-up.

Rodrigo will come in for Koch, meaning either Kalvin Phillips or Luke Ayling will fill in at centre-back.

Has that impacted Leeds United's chances in the game? Here is what the pundits have predicted.

Vinnie Jones - Easy Odds

"Kick off the weekend with a Leeds win against West Ham.

Is everything okay with Pablo?

"Rodrigo could be back in the fray - from the start - although even without him starting the team continues to play well. As I said they had plenty of chances against Chelsea and that will give supporters plenty of confidence.

"And the feelgood factor in the city could be back. Okay, Elland Road still can’t let fans in because they’re in tier three but the news that season tickets bought this season will be rolled out across next season, too, is just what fans wanted to hear."

Prediction: Leeds United win

Michael Owen - Bet Victor

"I covered both these sides last weekend. Leeds played well against Chelsea only to be undone by a very good side.

"West Ham were on top for the first hour in their match against Manchester United. Again, VAR was the big talking point as it looked like the ball had travelled well over the line for a throw-in before Paul Pogba’s equaliser. All in all, I think West Ham played a lot better than the result suggests.

"With both sides in such good goal scoring form, I reckon West Ham will come out on top, with both teams finding the net, in an entertaining match."

Prediction: West Ham win and both teams to score

Mark Lawrenson - BBC

"West Ham were unlucky to be beaten by Manchester United last weekend because they could have put that game to bed before the visitors' comeback.

"That was the end of a good little run of three successive wins for the Hammers, and I'm not sure they will bounce back here.

"Leeds have got a little bit of a soft centre defensively, and I am not convinced by their goalkeeper, Illan Meslier, but going forward they are just relentless."

Prediction: Leeds United 2 West Ham 0
