Here is your Leeds United morning digest on Sunday, December 27.
Transfer talk
Leeds have been urged to make a move for Liverpool striker Divock Origi.
The forward has fallen down the pecking order at Anfield this season after the arrival of Diogo Jota, making just seven appearances.
He has managed just two appearances in the Premier League, both of which came off the bench as he continues to struggle for game time in spite of Jota's latest injury.
Takumi Minamino started and scored in Liverpool's most recent fixture, the 7-0 demolition of Crystal Palace last weekend, further stressing Origi's expendability.
Speculation over his future at Anfield intensified this week when he removed references to Liverpool from his Twitter profile.
It has led to rumours that he could well be available in the January market and Noel Whelan is keen to see Leeds United make a move for him.
Cooper fears
Former Scotland boss Alex McLeish says he expects Liam Cooper to miss games more regularly for Leeds in the future.
The Whites captain is set to miss this weekend's fixture against Burnley after picking up an abdominal injury against Manchester United.
McLeish expects the centre-back to be a big miss for Leeds and says it is a symptom of such a hectic season.
Speaking to Football Insider, McLeish said that 29-year-old Cooper will likely pick up more niggling injuries as he gets older and fixture congestion starts to pile up.
He said: "That’s when you do fear for your squad when you lose key players and you don’t have replacements.
"That is a very, very difficult thing to put a sticking plaster on, it’s so difficult because it can affect the whole team.
Burnley warning
Tony Dorigo has sent a warning to Leeds ahead of Sunday's Premier League showdown with Burnley.
Marcelo Bielsa's men go head-to-head with Sean Dyche's Clarets at Elland Road, kicking off at midday.
The Whites will be looking to bounce back from their 6-2 thumping by Manchester United at Old Trafford last time out.
Former Leeds defender Dorigo has told his old team that they need to improve their defending at set pieces.
“You have to work harder at it,” he told LUTV.
“I think, I go back to not giving free-kicks away, not giving corners away so you’re better in possession, so you have a lot more of the ball so the opportunities to flourish from set-pieces is less.
“When we do give a corner-kick away, we have to be better.”
