Leeds United urged to make Premier League free agent their first signing upon promotion

Leeds United will be looking to add Premier League experience to their ranks should they earn promotion this season.

Although the football season has been suspended indefinitely and the future of the campaign remains unclear, the Whites have to be planning to bolster their squad if they are indeed promoted.

With Ben White set to return to Brighton this summer, as things stand, and Gaetano Berardi out of contract, it leaves Leeds short at centre-back.

However, it's Ryan Fraser who should be at the top of Victor Orta's transfer list, according to Danny Mills.

The Bournemouth winger has rejected a new contract at the Vitality Stadium and is being courted by Arsenal and Everton, according to reports in the national media.

Mills believes that Leeds should also be in the hunt for the pacey 26-year-old, even if they face tough competition.

“Leeds should be looking at him (Fraser). Any player who Premier League experience who is available on a free transfer they should be looking at," Mills told Football Insider.

“He will have other options though, without a doubt.

“Fraser is a player of quality but sometimes free transfers’ wages can get a little bit out of hand. The wages could get silly and Leeds would have to make sure it wouldn’t knock everybody else out of kilter.

"Free transfers often seem great but it depends on what the wages are. I hope he makes the best move, in terms of football, for himself.”
