Former Leeds United goalkeeper Paul Robinson has urged the club to make Jack Harrison's loan move into a permanent deal this summer.
The Manchester City midfielder is currently in his third season on loan at Elland Road, establishing himself as an integral part of Marcelo Bielsa's side in the successful push for promotion to the Premier League.
Leeds had the open to sign Harrison on a permanent basis in the summer, understood to be for a fee of £8m, but instead delayed a deal by agreeing another season-long loan deal.
While that has seen the cost of a permanent transfer raise to £10m, it has given Leeds the opportunity to make sure he can adapt to the rigours of top-flight football.
Now, having caught the eye for the Whites in their long-awaited return to the Premier League, Robinson has urged the club to push a permanent deal over the line in the summer transfer window.
“It was clever business in the first place to delay the signing for another year," he told MOT Leeds News.
“It gave Leeds a chance to see how they got on in the first season back in the Premier League and gives them potentially more funds to spend in the summer.
“I think the player he has developed into, not just on the field, but his stature and physical fitness, I think he’s becoming an all-round key component of this Bielsa side.
“I like Jack, he’s got a lot of talent, he’s got speed, he’s direct, scores goals, creates goals and for that price tag I think it’s an absolute no-brainer. They have to make that signing.”
