Leeds United under-23 player ratings as Forshaw and Greenwood lead title win at Aston Villa

Leeds United (4-1-4-1)

1 Elia Caprile - seven

Not called into much action across the 90 minutes, save for a predictable flurry of pressure from the visitors with their one-man advantage. Excellent with the saves he did have to make. Helpless to stop a classy Aston Villa free-kick.

2 Cody Drameh - seven

Perhaps not as close to the centre of the action as he has ben for so much of this campaign. Saw more of the ball in the second period and looked as competent as ever both going forward and defending.

6 Oliver Casey - seven

Much like Caprile, was not called into action a lot across the 90 minutes. Did make one outstanding block late on after a Caprile save to deny Villa a late equaliser.

5 Charlie Cresswell (c) - five

Did pretty well with the sizeable task of keeping £22m centre forward Wesley quiet. However, he will be frustrated to have been sent off for a shirt pull and then a hefty, flying challenge on the edge of his own box.

3 Niall Huggins - seven

Very lively up and down the left flank. Contributed plenty to the early dominance United had down that wing. Always keen to get forward and support play. Did not always pick out the best option in the final third. Villa got nothing out of him in defence.

4 Jack Jenkins - seven

A cornerstone of the championship win scores in the title-clinching victory. Nearly crossed the line on a couple of occasions with his tackles, picking up one yellow early in the first half, but a solid performance from Jenkins.

7 Bobby Kamwa - six

A quiet night for Kamwa down the right and in attack after the break.

8 Adam Forshaw - eight

A very polished and accomplished performance from the senior head in the team. Did not look off the pace. Clutching his hamstring a little as he walked off 10 minutes short of full-time, but seemed upbeat with the technical staff. Read the game effortlessly in this company.

Sam Greenwood scored again (Charlotte Tattersall/Getty Images)

10 Sam Greenwood - eight

Another fantastic free-kick to add to his collection. Did not stop running, hassling or carrying all night. Could have had more goals on the night too. If Joe Gelhardt doesn't get you, Greenwood often does.

11 Crysencio Summerville - eight

A menace. Villa defence could not live with him. Fantastic dribbling and a hand in both of the goals. Brilliant in pressing the home defence too.

9 Joe Gelhardt - seven

Will be disappointed with his penalty, but so much we have come to love about his game across the park. The dribbling, the drops of the shoulder, the long-range shots. Half-time withdrawal would suggest first-team involvement on Monday night.

Substitutes

12 Dani van den Heuvel

14 Liam McCarron (on for Gelhardt h/t) - six

A touch quiet and missed a great chance to make it 2-1 before Jenkins did. Slid in at the far post, but put the ball wide.

15 Nohan Kenneh (on for Kamwa 77min) - N/A

16 Stuart McKinstry (on for Forshaw 84min) - N/A

17 Charlie Allen
