Leeds United U23s' exciting winger dazzles in training clip

This season, Leeds United's U23 side have surged to the summit of the Premier League 2 Division 2 table, unrelenting with their grasp on the title for the vast majority of the season.

The likes of Joe Gelhardt, Sam Greenwood, Stuart McKinstry and Charlie Cresswell have played major roles, but it has been something of a collective team effort that has the team on the cusp of silverware and success.

Slightly on the periphery has been Dutch winger Crysencio Summerville, signed last autumn from Eredivisie giants Feyenoord.

Summerville has extensive experience of senior football, compared to his U23 peers, having spent time on loan with FC Dordrecht and ADO Den Haag in the Netherlands.

Over the course of less than 900 minutes with the U23s this season, Summerville has registered five goals and assists apiece, as well as winning two penalties.

One of his finest moments was in the fact the winning of a penalty against Norwich City earlier in the season, picking the ball up near the touchline and bursting infield, taking four Canaries bodies with him.

One-by-one he bypassed the opposition defenders, as his combination of good balance, composure and close control meant it was nigh on impossible to retrieve possession without fouling.

And that is precisely what one Norwich defender did, just inside the penalty area, much to the delight of U23s manager Mark Jackson.

It is clear Summerville is immensely talented, particularly in his ball-carrying endeavours.

He has demonstrated that these spurts of acceleration are not reserved exclusively for matches, but that he is more than happy to oblige when it comes to bamboozling his own teammates.

Recent training footage shows Summerville skipping past challenge after challenge in Leeds United U23s training, before slotting past the goalkeeper.

It only further exacerbates the expectation amongst the fanbase that Summerville could well follow Pascal Struijk's route to first-team football within the next 12 months.

Struijk was similarly recruited from his homeland across the North Sea, and blooded in the U23s before receiving the first-team call-up towards the end of last season.

While two years' Struijk's junior, the consistency with which Summerville has performed at PL2 level this season suggests he may not be far off being named alongside the likes of Niall Huggins and Joe Gelhardt in a Leeds United matchday squad.
