Burnley confirm date for Premier League Cup quarter-final against Leeds United U23s

Burnley have confirmed that their Premier League Cup quarter-final clash against Leeds United will take place on Friday March 29.

The two sides were last week drawn together in the last-eight stage of the under-23s competition, after Carlos Corberan's team beat Fulham in a dramatic penalty shootout win earlier this month.

The Clarets have now confirmed that the tie will be taking place behind closed doors this Friday afternoon at their Barnfield Training Centre at 2.30pm

Corberan's side currently sit eight points clear of the Clarets in the Professional Development League 2, having played a game more.

Leeds eased to a 6-3 win away to Burnley in December, with Patrick Bamford scoring a hat-trick as he stepped up his recovery from injury.

What next for Leeds United under-23s after Premier League Cup victory?

The Whites take on Colchester tonight, knowing that if results earlier in the day go their way, a win in Essex will secure the title.

Here is the quarter-final draw in full:

Burnley v Leeds United

Everton or Sunderland v Blackburn Rovers

Newcastle United v Derby County

Nottingham Forest v Swansea City
