Leeds United U21s team news as Archie Gray included in strong Paco Gallardo squad

Archie Gray could make his return to action after being included on the Leeds United U21s bench this evening. Gray hasn’t featured at any level since September due to couple of injury issues, but he’s been included on the bench for the Premier League 2 Division 2 clash against Derby County at the LNER Community Stadium.

The 16-year-old was named as a first-team substitute last week against Fulham and again against Chelsea, but tonight’s clash could be his first appearance in over five months. Sam Greenwood is the big name to feature in the starting XI to take on the Rams.

The midfielder impressed for the youth side on a couple of occasions last month and he’ll hope to catch the eye once more as the Whites face off against the bottom of the table outfit, who have picked up just one point all season. Mateo Joseph was given 22 minutes for the senior side at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon but returns to the U21s’ starting XI and he'll lead the line.

Diogo Monteiro, Darko Gyabi and Sonny Perkins all feature, too, in what is an extremely strong U21s line-up. The Whites can move three points clear at the top of the table should they see off Derby.

Leeds United U21s: Harry Christy; Kris Moore, Diogo Monteiro, Jeremiah Mullen, Connor Ferguson; Darko Gyabi, Charlie Allen, Sam Greenwood, Mateo Joseph, Sonny Perkins, Joe Snowdon.

Subs: Will Brook, Morten Spencer, Charlie Crew, Archie Gray, James Debayo.
