Leeds United U21s player ratings as Gray and McGurk catch eye in West Brom defeat

Dani Van den Heuvel: Made some fine saves throughout the contest and could do very little about the winner from distance. 6

Jeremiah Mullen: Solid enough in the left-back role. It’s not his natural position and West Brom tried to take of advantage of that but he turned in a steady performance. 6

Diogo Monteiro: Hit the bar late on in agonising circumstances. Looked safe in possession and looked to move the ball forward when possible. 6

Kris Moore: Relished the physical battle with Layton Love and acquitted himself relatively well once more. 6

Morten Spencer: Took on the right-back role and looked at ease there. Moved the ball forward well and delivered a number of dangerous set-pieces. 6

Darko Gyabi: For the second game in a row he was roughed up in the middle of the park but he rose to the challenge once more and showed his class in spells. He could be a key man during the play-offs. 7

Archie Gray: Up there among Leeds’ best once more. He took the game by the scruff of the neck at times, providing service for Joseph and Perkins ahead of him. Probably should have scored early in the second half. 8

Charlie Allen: Looked to make things happen down the right and had the beating of his man, particularly in the first half. Provided the assist for Perkins. 7

Sean McGurk: Arguably Leeds’ most dangerous in the West Midlands. The Baggies couldn’t handle him at times, but he couldn’t make the most of the chances he found himself on the end of. 8

Sonny Perkins: Took his goal well in the first but should have added to his tally in the second, scooping a close-range effort over the bar. A livewire in attacking areas. 7

Mateo Joseph: Ran and ran and ran but struggled in front of goal. On another day he could have left the West Midlands with a hat-trick to his name. 6

Luca Thomas (Spencer 86): N/A

Charlie Crew (McGurk 86): N/A
