Leeds United U21s player ratings as Connor Douglas shines bright on tough afternoon for Whites

Kristoffer Klaesson: Peppered throughout the contest. Perhaps should have done more to prevent Norwich’s second but made a series of good saves throughout and was probably one of Leeds’ best. 6

Jeremiah Mullen: Started the game well and handled Norwich’s physicality. Made the mistake that led to Norwich’s third, though. Moved into the middle at half-time. 5

James Debayo: Struggled at times against an experienced Norwich forward line. Looked visibly short of confidence at times. 5

Morten Spencer: Looked good with the ball at his feet but didn’t look comfortable defensively. Better when he moved into midfield at the break. 5

Connor Ferguson: A big week for him after penning professional terms, he found the going tough at times but it was a big step up. 5

Cian Coleman: Struggled with the pace and strength of Norwich’s senior men but looked relatively settled on the ball. Moved to right-back at the break. 5

Darko Gyabi: Showed some very good touches on the ball, looked physically strong enough. While he couldn’t impact the game as he would have hoped, he was one of Leeds' best. 6

Marley Wilson: Enjoyed a couple of really strong moments in the first half. Gave the ball away in the build up to the second. 6

Max McFadden: Looked to struggle with the step up at times but his head never dropped and he kept looking to create when on the ball. 5

Sean McGurk: Started well but faded quickly. Struggled to find success down the left before moving into the middle in the second half. 5

Mateo Joseph: Just couldn’t get a foothold in the game. Took a couple of knocks but didn't find any joy. 5

Connor Douglas (McFadden 57): His first appearance in the U21s side and he took the opportunity to shine. Looked a real threat and found two goals with impressive finishes. 8

Ben Andreucci (Joseph 81): Emerged late in the contest. N/A

Jay Buchan (Spencer 81): Emerged late in the contest. N/A

Daniel Toulson (McGurk 90): N/A

Not used: Harry Christy.
