Leeds United trio are Fantasy Premier League bargains after 2021-22 price reveal

The new season is another step closer after the Premier League's fantasy football game was renewed for the upcoming 2021-22 campaign.

Leeds United fans will likely have stolen a march on their mini-leagues last season, with the likes of Patrick Bamford, Stuart Dallas and Jack Harrison among the biggest bargains in the game, as Marcelo Bielsa's side turned in one of the best seasons from a newly promoted side in recent memory.

By the end of the season, Illan Meslier was the third-highest scoring goalkeeper, Dallas was the game's top-scoring defender and Patrick Bamford's performance up front was bettered only by Harry Kane in the striker positions. Jack Harrison meanwhile, left his parent club team-mates Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan and Raheem Sterling all in his wake.

Rival fans were quick to cotton on last season and now the makers of the game have also had their say on Leeds' credentials next season, meaning it's ever-more difficult to find those Elland Road bargains.

So as you spend the next seven-and-a-half weeks before the bog kick off tinkering with your team, which Leeds United players should get the nod?

One of the most important rules for any fantasy football player is to select players who are going to play, so ahead of any potential new arrivals, you will need to prioritise those Leeds positions which the club are least likely to invest in this summer.

So which Leeds players should you be considering in your side?

Every member of the Leeds defence is currently priced at £4.5million, which does throw up a couple of tempting options, although Dallas has now been moved forward into midfield on the game.

Luke Ayling's place as Leeds' starting right-back looks to be secure and as this piece here points out, Leeds should be able to expect a better attacking return next season.

The other tantalising option at the back is Diego Llorente. It was no coincidence that his inclusion as a regular in Bielsa's defensive coincided with a huge statistical improvement at the back. His £4.5million price tag looks to be good value.

In midfield, all eyes were on what Raphinha's price tag would be set at and his £6.5million valuation should make him a popular choice. The Brazilian netted six goals and provided nine assists in 30 games, but with a full Bielsa pre-season behind him, there will be few eyebrows raised if he betters that return this season.

Patrick Bamford's 17-goal return has seen his price jump to £8.0million meaning his take-up could be lower this season. The smart money may be on Rodrigo at £6.5million, however. His excellent form at the end of the season was a timely reminder of his quality going into the summer and again, with a full pre-season behind him, he could be set to prove that Leeds were correct to break their transfer record to bring him to Elland Road last summer.
