Leeds United transfer rumours with Birmingham boss on George Hall, ex-Whites man's Napoli link

Here are your latest Leeds United transfer rumours for Thursday, November 17.

George Hall links

Birmingham City manager John Eustace says he is not surprised that George Hall is attracting attention from other clubs. The 18-year-old has been linked with a move to Leeds United with the Daily Mail describing his departure in January as 'inevitable'.

Hall has enjoyed an impressive breakthrough season at St Andrew's. The England U19 midfielder scored his first goal for the club in a 1-1 draw against Watford in August and has amassed 17 league appearances this term.

He has 18 months left to run on his contract and Eustace believes his development is better served by playing regularly in the Championship rather than for the under-21s at Leeds.

Eustace told Birmingham Live: "George is a brilliant player, a really good young player and I expect it with all our young players. George's performances this season have been very, very good.

"He has made 16-17 appearances now - last season he made two appearances. It's my job to develop him properly, which I feel like we are doing. We are giving him starts, he is impacting off the bench but it's all about his development.

"It's important I don't put too much pressure on him and that every time he goes on the field he makes an impact - and I think he has done that up to now.

“It’s just about his development, he’s just turned 18, we have to put things into perspective here, we are giving all these young boys a fantastic opportunity to showcase themselves in a very, very good environment."

Elia Caprile exit talk

Ex-Leeds goalkeeper Elia Caprile is being tipped to join Serie A leaders Napoli just four months after leaving Elland Road.

Caprile was plucked from Chievo's youth system and joined up with Leeds U21s in January 2020. He was named on the bench on a handful of occasions by Marcelo Bielsa but never represented the first team.

After spending last season on loan at Pro Patria, Caprile returned to Italy on a permanent basis by joining second-tier outfit Bari in July.

The 21-year-old has conceded 15 goals in 13 league appearances for Bari - keeping three clean sheets in the process.

Italian agent Mario Giuffredi has told Radio Marte (via HITC) that Caprile is indeed a candidate for Italian heavyweights Napoli when the transfer window reopens in January.

Giuffredi, who represents a number of Napoli players, revealed: "Who will Cristiano Giuntoli [Napoli's director] buy in January? He will take players like Elia Caprile, the goalkeeper."

Furthermore, Gazetta del Mezzogiorno have reported that Leeds inserted a 50 percent sell-on clause when they sold Caprile to Bari in the summer.
