Leeds United transfer rumours: Whites' key man to attract bids, Rodrigo de Paul's January switch

Leeds United continued their strong start to the campaign last time out with an excellent win at Everton.

Raphinha scored his first goal for the Whites in the win at Goodison Park, as Marcelo Bielsa's signings continue to impress.

With that said, the January transfer window is on the horizon and Bielsa could have a look at bringing in further additions to give his side the best chance of a solid finish in the Premier League this season.

Here are the latest Leeds-related transfer stories.

Bielsa on Raphinha's performance

Kalvin to attract bids?

Leeds fans don't need telling about how important Kalvin Phillips is to the team.

The academy graduate put in arguably his finest performance of the season in Saturday's win at Goodison Park.

And former England striker Darren Bent, speaking to Sky Sports, believes that the more Phillips impresses the more he will attract interest from the so-called bigger clubs.

Bent said: “He is one of those midfielders who you call a quarterback because he gets the ball and soon as he gets the ball, even as a deep-lying midfield player, the attacking players can make runs because they know the ball is coming. Not only is it coming, but it’s coming with quality. I am a big fan of his.

“I think he signed a new contract not so long ago. But some of the big boys are going to come calling.

"They have to because he has been that good.”

Phillips is contracted to Elland Road until 2024 and so, naturally, would command a huge fee.

RDP on the move?

Rodrigo de Paul was linked with a move to Leeds for most of the summer.

In the end, it didn't materialise and he stayed put with Udinese.

Now, reports in Italy suggest he could be set for a January move to giants Inter Milan.

Tuttosport claim Inter are considering cashing in on Christian Eriksen. And if that happens, they could well replace the Dane with de Paul.

Pablo won't throw towel in

Pablo Hernandez will find it difficult to force his way back into the side when he returns from injury.

That's the view of Danny Mills, the former Whites' defender.

Mills believes the veteran Spaniard will get his head down and work to get back in the team, rather than ask for a transfer away.

He told Football Insider: "It’s always hard for any player that is out of a team that is playing well without you in it, you’ve got to force your way back into it.

"I don’t think it’s personal whatsoever, it’s just difficult when a team is on a bit of a role and you’ve not played for a while, how do you force your way back into that?

“You have to wait for some bad performances or injuries to get your opportunity again.”

Hernandez has started just twice in the Premier League this season.
