Leeds United transfer rumours: Third Ben White bid rejected, Josh King asking price revealed

A busy summer continues for Leeds United as they continue their preparations for their return to the Premier League.

Marcelo Bielsa’s men are of course back in the top flight for the 2020/21 campaign following last season’s title triumph, and been hard at work ahead of the new season.

Six new signings have made their way through the door, and more are expected as the Whites gear up for kick-off on September 12.

Here are the latest transfer rumours and gossip coming from Elland Road.

Third White bid turned down

The Ben White saga continues, with BBC Sport reporting that Leeds have had a third bid rejected for the Brighton defender.

The Whites are eager to land the 22-year-old after his impressive season on loan, which has also attracted the interest of the likes of Liverpool and Chelsea.

The report claims the offer, thought to be in the region of £25m plus add-ons, was rejected, with the Seagulls repeating their stance that White is not for sale.

Leeds have made signing White a priority this summer, although chief executive Angus Kinnear admitted the club face a challenge to sign the centre-back this summer.

King asking price revealed

Leeds United have been told they will have to pay around £30m to sign Bournemouth striker Josh King.

Accord to the Express, Leeds may be interested in the former Manchester United forward, but they are not alone, with West Ham and Everton also said to be eyeing a move.

Bournemouth look set to sell a number of their key players this summer following relegation, with Nathan Ake having already departed for Manchester City.

But the Cherries are not willing to offer anyone at a reduced price, with the club demanding a huge sum for King.

Whites target Rodrigo

Leeds have set their sights on a move for Valencia striker Rodrigo as they look to strengthen their front line ahead of the new season.

According to journalist Gianluca di Marzio, via the Daily Star, Bielsa hopes to have the former Real Madrid forward by the time the Whites take on Liverpool in their opening fixture next month.

Andrea Radrizzani has identified the 29-year-old as a top target this summer as Leeds prepare for life back in the top flight.

Rodrigo only managed seven goals in 34 appearances for Valencia last season, while also missing the Spanish club’s final few matches with a knee injury.
