Leeds United transfer rumours: Striker tipped to sign, Rodrigo De Paul makes transfer decision

Leeds United returned to winning ways in the Premier League on Wednesday evening as they thumped five past Newcastle United.

Goals from Patrick Bamford, Rodrigo Moreno, Stuart Dallas, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison were enough for the Whites - who were sensational in front of goal on the night.

Now, part of Marcelo Bielsa 's attention may be on the January transfer window, which is now only weeks away.

With that said, we have the very latest round-up of transfer dealings coming in and going out of Elland Road.

Whites tipped to sign another striker

According to former Scotland international Frank McAvennie, Leeds need to sign another striker when the January transfer window opens.

This is why Bielsa perseveres with Jack Harrison's crossing

Bamford has been in excellent form so far this season - with the 27-year-old scoring his ninth Premier League goal in 13 games earlier this week.

However, speaking to Football Insider, McAvennie said: “You need competition because what if Bamford goes off the boil or gets injured. They started the season off on fire but they have not been like that ever since.

“Premier League teams will get used to playing against Leeds and learn how to play against them and we saw that with West Ham who went there and got a win. A month ago you would not have foreseen that."

Roberts could leave

Leeds could sell Tyler Roberts in January, but only if they can find a replacement, according to Football Insider.

Roberts has made just two starts in the Premier League so far this season following the arrivals of Rodrigo and Raphinha.

Derby County were reportedly interested in the 21-year-old over the summer, but a deal couldn't be agreed between the two parties.

The report states that the Whites are not actively looking to offload the Wales international, but if the right offer comes in - and they find a replacement in time - then they would be willing to offload the winger.

De Paul hints at future

Reported Leeds summer target Rodrigo De Paul may have given the biggest indication yet of what he's going to do in the future.

The Udinese star was linked with a move to Elland Road all summer-long, but has now insisted he is very happy with the Serie A club.

Cited by Italian outlet Calciomercato, De Paul said: "I know Udinese is not PSG, but why change? It's hard to find a more comfortable place than this."

It was reported that the Whites were put off by Udinese's demand of €40m for the Argentine midfielder.
