Leeds United transfer rumours: Romain Perraud links, striker's 'tense wait', Paul Robinson claim

It's transfer deadline day and for Leeds United, meaning it is the club's last opportunity to add to their squad for the remainder of the season.

It's been a very quiet window for the Whites, with no incomings at Elland Road so far, which is likely down to the nearly-£100million injection into the squad over the summer.

However, there are still plenty of transfer rumours regarding Marcelo Bielsa's side with just hours remaining.

So here is the latest round-up of Leeds-related transfer stories and rumours from around Europe.

Whites make contact over left-back

According to French news outlet Le10 Sport, Leeds and Southampton have made contact with Brest to try and sign left-back Romain Perraud.

Bielsa on Patrick Bamford

The report states that Perraud may stay with the French club until the end of the season at least, but the Premier League duo have both enquired about his availability.

Marseille are also interested in the 23-year-old, who is an attack-minded left-back, with three goals and five assists in Ligue 1 so far this season.

As it stands, Bielsa has Gjanni Alioski and Stuart Dallas as his options on the left-hand side of defence, with Marseille's former Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi also heavily linked recently.

Mujica faces 'tense wait'

Leeds striker Rafa Mujica now faces a "tense wait" for his loan move to Las Palmas to be completed, according to Cope.

Mujica has spent the first half of the season on loan at Real Oviedo, but a lack of game time has seen the 22-year-old search for more consistent football and a move to Las Palmas seems to be on the cards.

However, despite this being worked on over the last few days, the striker now faces a wait for the call to finalise the move to the Spanish side.

Mujica is keen to move to the Gran Canaria-based team, but if it cannot be completed then Leeds will move to find another club from the Spanish second division.

Robinson's summer prediction

Former Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson has predicted his old club could sign some "big names" this summer.

It was a busy summer period for the Whites in 2020, but the mid-season window has been much quieter for Bielsa's men.

However, when speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson stated his belief that supporters could be in for an exciting summer transfer window.

"I think regardless of whether new investment came in there would have been some big names arriving at Leeds this summer. The money helps, though," the ex-England shot-stopper said.

"I think if Leeds can stay in the Premier League this season, and it certainly looks like we will, it will be a busy summer for the club."
