Leeds United are fully preparing for life back in the Premier League after 16 years out of the top-flight.
Marcelo Bielsa and the club’s board are now tasked to build a squad capable of staying in England’s top-tier, which has proved difficult for some teams in the past.
It’s unsurprising that the Whites have been linked with a host of new players to help them bolster their squad for the upcoming season.
With that being said, here are the very latest Leeds-related transfer rumours from today.
Update on Leeds’ pursuit of Quarta
River Plate defender Lucas Martinez Quarta has been linked with a move to Leeds this summer and there are some reports that the Argentine club may not need to sell him.
The South American club are in need of $10m, according to El Intransigente, and with West Ham United being linked with Gonzalo Montiel, the side may only need to sell one of these players.
One sale would be enough, if the report is to be believed, and the representatives of these two players have now started a “war” to try and force the transfers through as quickly as possible.
Quarta has reportedly attracted interest from Leeds, Inter Milan, AC Milan, Real Betis and Valencia, following his impressive displays in a River Plate shirt.
Huddersfield’s stance over Leeds goalkeeper
Huddersfield Town have been linked with a move for Leeds goalkeeper Kamil Miazek in recent days, but that may not be true, according to reports.
According to the Examiner, the Terriers are not interested in Miazek, despite the club being after two goalkeepers, according to journalist Alan Nixon.
Huddersfield’s policy towards loans this summer means that they would have to be a big upgrade on what they already have at their disposal.
Miazek is yet to make a senior appearance for the Whites, and could be loaned out ahead of the upcoming season.
Difficulties in Roma’s Orta pursuit
Italian side Roma may find it “difficult” to take Victor Orta away from Leeds this summer, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, via Sport Witness.
The Whites’ sporting director is of interest to Roma, as they look for someone to focus purely on transfers.
However, Monchi worked at the Serie A team before joining Sevilla and he found it difficult to work in the Italian capital, according to the report.
Orta worked with Monchi at Sevilla and is thought to be close friends with him - making a switch to Roma unlikely for the Leeds sporting director.
