Leeds United transfer rumours: Rodrigo De Paul price drop, Braithwaite blow, Osayi-Samuel latest

We are now under a month until the January transfer window opens, giving clubs a chance to strengthen their squads mid-season.

For Leeds United, it gives the Whites an opportunity to renew their interest in any targets they failed to land in the summer.

Yet, after a good start to the season, there will be question marks over how much Leeds actually do need to strengthen.

With that in mind, here are the latest Leeds United transfer rumours.

De Paul price drop

Calciomercato report that Udinese have dropped their asking price on Rodrigo De Paul.

The midfielder was wanted by Leeds in the summer but they failed to meet Udinese's asking price of around £37m.

How good is Stuart Dallas at the minute?

Yet the Serie A side have dropped their asking price after reported interest from both Inter Milan and Juventus.

Inter are said to see the 26-year-old as a replacement for Christian Eriksen, who has disappointed at the San Siro since his move from Tottenham Hotspur.

Osayi-Samuel contract latest

QPR boss Mark Warburton says he will remain firm over Bright Osayi-Samuel's contract situation.

The 22-year-old has been linked with a host of clubs including Leeds, Burnley and Celtic, thanks to his consistently good performances in the Championship.

His contract expires in the summer, meaning time is running out for QPR to avoid losing him cheaply but Warburton says the club will remain firm in negotiations over a new deal.

“There are always things that crop up and occur. At times you hit a stalemate in certain discussions and negotiations,” Warburton told West London Sport.

“But the talking goes on. We just have to wait and see what happens. Offers will be made and discussions are ongoing.

“There is and that always happens in any business. Sometimes you have to be strong and firm. QPR will do what’s best for QPR. We have to.

“We have to look after QPR and although there might be some short-term pain, I think it’s longer-term gain.”

Braithwaite blow

ESPN report Leeds United and West Ham target Martin Braithwaite is determined to remain at Barcelona.

The Whites have been linked to the former Middlesbrough attacker, who is said to be surplus to requirements at the Nou Camp.

He cost Barca around £15m in February as an emergency signing but has struggled to make much of an impression.

Yet the Dane is said to want to stay at the Catalan giants.
